Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

As most of you are probably aware, in a month's time (July 7) I am joining the boys and embarking on this year's Tour de France Etape.

The route starts in Annecy, covers 130k, nearly 10,000ft of climbing and ends on the summit of mont semnoz.  For me it's quite an undertaking, given 6 months ago I couldn't even stay upright on a bike in SPDs (special pedals)! Good job James will be there to look after me; well at least for the first 1k....

To add further meaning to the challenge James and I are hoping to raise some money for charity, one that I completely believe in and am personally very close to in my daily work....Bowel Cancer West.

In 2010, 40,695 people in the UK were diagnosed with bowel cancer, making it the fourth most common cancer in this country, (after Breast, Lung and Prostate).

In 2005-2009, around 55% of adult bowel cancer patients in England survived their cancer for five years or more.

I know everyone gets lots of requests for charity, but this is a really great cause which helps so many people. So can I please ask you to donate whatever you can.

Thank you so, so much in advance for supporting us in this great challenge,

kat & james
